Create new Child Item in dRofus and link to Family Type

If there are any Revit Family Types for which the corresponding dRofus Items do not exist, you can create new Child Items based on unlinked Family types.

Step 1: Verify that the right attribute configuration is selected. Read more: Introduction to Revit Attribute Configurations

Step 2: Select Family Type that will be linked to a Child Item. You can multi-select Family types using the "Shift" and / or "Control" keys on your keyboard.

Step 3: Select “← Create Item Child in dRofus”

Step 4: Navigate or search for the Item or Item Group

Step 5: Select the Item in dRofus you want to set as parent to the Child Item you are about to create.

Optional steps:

Step 6: Assign Responsibility to the Child Item (if the user only have write access to one responsibility, this responsibility will be set as default)

Step 7: If the dRofus database is set up with a classification for Items, this will show here. For more information on setting up of Classifications, refer to: Edit Classification Setup

Step 8: Upload Revit family files to dRofus

Step 9: Select “Ok”

The new child Item will appear as linked with the Revit familie in the list over Linked Items. The Item and Family Type are populated with the information set in the configuration.

Synchronize Instance and Occurrence

Select “Sync” to synchronize the Family Type Instance and Item Occurrence.
